Our downtown development team, a division of the City of Wilson Planning & Community Revitalization Department, is responsible for the areas of design, promotion and economic development within the Municipal Service District in Historic Downtown Wilson. In addition, staff manages two non-profits including Wilson Downtown Development Corporation and Wilson Downtown Properties, Inc. which work together to comprehensively revitalize and promote Historic Downtown Wilson.
WILSON DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (WDDC)
This non-profit organization provides important leadership to promote a vibrant, innovative and sustainable downtown. It supports downtown development, encourages historic preservation and combats community deterioration. Learn more about WDDC

WILSON FARMERS & ARTISAN MARKET (WF&AM)
Whether you’re searching for fresh fruits and vegetables, or handmade jewelry and paintings, you will find all of that — and much more — at the Wilson Farmers & Artisan Market. The market operates every Saturday, April through September, and in the Fall on Tuesday evenings, under the pavilion at the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park located at 301 Goldsboro Street South.
