Our downtown development team, a division of the City of Wilson Planning & Community Revitalization Department, is responsible for design, promotion, and economic development within the Municipal Service District in Downtown Wilson. In addition, staff manages two non-profits, including Wilson Downtown Development Corporation and Wilson Downtown Properties, Inc., which work together to revitalize and promote Downtown Wilson comprehensively.

WILSON DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (WDDC)

This non-profit organization provides important leadership to promote a vibrant, innovative, and sustainable downtown. It supports downtown development, encourages historic preservation, and combats community deterioration. Learn more about WDDC.

WILSON FARMERS & ARTISAN MARKET (WF&AM)

Whether you’re searching for fresh fruits and vegetables, or handmade jewelry and paintings, you will find all of that — and much more — at the Wilson Farmers & Artisan Market. The market operates every Saturday, April through September, and in the Fall on Tuesday evenings, under the pavilion at the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park located at 301 Goldsboro Street South.
