James M. Johnson, III
Council District 4
Councilman Johnson was first elected to the City Council in 1992 and has served as Mayor Pro-Tem since 2002. He is a 1989 graduate of Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College) where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Mr. Johnson is also a graduate of Hunt High School. He is a general agent and owner of his family’s insurance agency. Councilman Johnson is a past president of Wilson Association of Life Underwriters, past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Wilson Community College, where he served 16 years. He is active in many local, regional, state, and national organizations.
Councilman Johnson is married and has two children.
