The Business Development Office, a division of the City of Wilson Planning & Community Revitalization Department, works to grow the local economy and improve the prosperity and quality of life for all residents. The Business Development team works with the community to improve social conditions and support economic sustainability by recruiting and retaining businesses and redeveloping properties.

Presently, the Business Development team is working within 3 focus areas: the Highway 301 Corridor, the Five Points neighborhood, and the former Parkwood Mall, including commercial centers along Ward Boulevard.

Mature and new businesses in the above focus areas may be eligible for several grants, incentives, and business assistance by working with the Business Development office. Funds from grants and other incentive programs can come from a wide variety of sources and are subject to availability and eligibility.

Contact the Business Development staff if you have any questions about your business or about investing in the 301, Five Points, or former Mall areas.
