Registration is Open!

Registration is now open for the Youth Citizens Academy 2026 hosted by the City of Wilson Human Relations Office. The academy will be a three-day session from June 8 - June 10. Rising 9th – 12^th graders, attending school in Wilson County, are encouraged to attend. The academy will be held daily 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Charles W. Pittman III Operations Center at 1800 Herring Avenue. Lunch will be provided at no cost.

The Youth Citizens Academy was created to give local students insight into the structure and operations of local government. It will also help with considering career pathways as students complete their high school requirements. Students will have the opportunity to visit and interact with many city departments through hands-on activities and tours of various city facilities.

You may print and complete the below documents and return them to the Human Relations office at 104 Goldsboro Street E, Wilson NC 27893. For more information call 252-399-2308. Registration will close when slots are full or on June 3rd. Registration applications are due in our office by the deadline June 3, 2026.
