Captain Jeff Boykin has been with the Wilson Police Department for over twenty-four years. He served as a patrol officer, vice/narcotics detective, problem oriented response team officer, and was appointed to the department’s tactical team. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1999. During his time as Sergeant he supervised various patrol teams and various districts within the City of Wilson, as well as serving as Sergeant for the tactical team, Street Crimes Unit, and Vice/Narcotics Unit. As a Sergeant he was appointed to acting commander of the North and Central Districts in Field Operations. Boykin was promoted to Captain and now serves as commander of Special Operations. Special Operations consists of Vice/Narcotics, Special Response Team (tactical team), PORT- Problem Oriented Response Team, STEP Unit- Strategic Traffic Enforcement Patrol and Housing Authority officer. Captain Boykin has specialized training and expertise in narcotic investigations, special weapons and tactics, and nuisance abatement.
