Ellen Crain Høj, AICP, CZO and Senior Urban Designer for the Wilson Planning and Community Revitalization Department, has had an extensive 30 plus-year career participating in millions of investment dollars in development for private, public, and not-for-profits. Practicing in three states, twelve years of her work was in high profile executive leadership positions. Her academic background encompasses two Masters degrees: Landscape Architecture, and Urban and Regional Planning, as well as a Bachelor in Environmental Design. Ellen has been honored nationally with an Outstanding Professional Award – an APA National Award for the Community Planning Team – for serving as an urban designer for a major African American neighborhood redevelopment in downtown Greensboro, North Carolina. She has received recent awards from North Carolina American Planning Association, North Carolina Main Streets Program with the State Commerce Department, and the North Carolina Urban Forestry Council.
