Kelsey Newsome

Parks and Recreation Special Population/Senior Specialist

Performs professional and supervisory responsibilities related to the development, coordination, and implementation of Senior Programs and Special Populations.  Through speaking engagements promotes Special Olympics and Special Populations.  Also recruits and supervises volunteers for events for Special Olympics and Senior Population.  She currently serves on the ARC Board.

Kelsey began her employment with the City of Wilson in January of 2017 after completing her internship with Wilson Parks and Recreation Department this past summer. She recently graduated from East Carolina University with a B.S. Degree in Recreation & Park Management with a concentration in Sports Leadership. She was also named East Carolina’s Outstanding Graduate for the College of Health & Human Performance. Recreation has always been a part of her life and she is excited to begin a career in it. She strives to do good work, laugh everyday, and press on.

Kelsey serves as the contact for senior programs, special populations programs, and Special Olympics for Wilson County.
