Parks and Recreation Senior Police Officer/Park Ranger

The Park Police Officers are responsible for the safety of citizens utilizing city parks, lakes and reservoirs and enforcing laws and ordinances upon, but not limited to, park property, lakes and reservoirs. Park Police Officers work closely with Wildlife Officers and utilize the Park Police watercraft patrolling the lakes and reservoirs. Park Police Officers provided security for seasonal recreational events. Park Police also assist the police patrol division when assistance is needed.

I was hired by the Wilson Police Department in June of 2006. I worked as a uniformed patrol officer for four years and four months. I have been one of the Wilson Police Department’s Park Rangers since October of 2010. I am also one of the Wilson Police Department’s Crisis Negotiators and I am a member of the Honor Guard Unit. I had the honor of being named the Wilson Police Departments Police Officer of the year in 2008. I am currently working toward my two year Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. I completed Basic Law Enforcement Training from Wilson Community College in April of 2006.

Officer Pittman serves as the contact for disturbances in parks/reservoirs, permit violations for hunting/fishing on city property.
