This position implements, coordinates, and supervises all aspects of the city’s recreation programs and special events. Directly supervising the Special Populations and Senior Specialist. Yearly events provided through this position include but are not limited to Special Olympics, Gymnastics, Karate, Aerobics, Summer Camps, and Seasonal Events.
Braxton has been employed with the City of Wilson since 2006. He was Athletics Supervisor for over 10 years and recently switched to become Parks & Recreation Programs & Marketing Supervisor. He graduated from East Carolina University in 2002 with a B.S. Degree in Recreation & Leisure Studies. In 2012 he received his CPRP (Certified Parks and Recreation Professional). He enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves & East Carolina Pirates! He currently serves on the NC Baseball Museum Board & ARC Board.
Braxton serves as the contact for marketing, programs (adult fitness classes, line dancing, boxing, Champions in Motion cheer leading, Champions in Motion Self Defense, gymnastics, Williams Day Camp summer camps, zumba, aqua zumba) and special events (Easter Egg Hunt, Pictures with Santa, Supper with Santa, Train of Lights).
