Utility Service Change Request Procedures

Procedure to Have Utilities Connected

  1. A lease agreement or rent receipt from the landlord specifying the location address for services to be connected. Also accepted is an offer to purchase or a deed for purchase of land or home.
  2. Request date for connection must be Monday-Friday. Failure to fully complete this application may result in delaying connection of utilities. We require a forty-eight hour notification prior to connection of utilities.
  3. Mobile home registration with the County of Wilson is required for single-wide mobile homes.
  4. A picture I.D. and Social Security card or other document with social security information.
  5. A deposit, a guarantor and /or a credit check will be required.
  6. The above information must be received either by fax (252) 399-2314 or by mailing to City of Wilson, % Customer Service, PO Box 10, Wilson, NC 27894 before services are connected.
  7. To apply for new gas service (not existing gas service), please contact the Inspections Department at (252) 399-2219.

  1. The information must be received either by fax (252) 399-2314, by phone (252) 399-2200 or by mailing request to the City of Wilson, % Customer Service, PO Box 10, Wilson, NC 27894 before services are disconnected.
  2. Request date for disconnection must be Monday - Friday.
  3. Failure to successfully complete this request may result in delaying disconnection of utilities.
