Unified Development Ordinance


The Wilson City Council voted unanimously on Jan. 17, 2013, to approve the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO, the first comprehensive rewrite of Wilson’s development regulations since the original Zoning Ordinance was adopted in 1961.

The UDO implements the 2030 Comprehensive Plan adopted in April 2010. The UDO clarifies and simplifies the regulations. It also streamlines the development approval process. The UDO is readable and functional and useable by citizens and developers alike.
