|Dispatch - Public Services Communication Center
Residents can call in regarding requests for services and with concerns regarding streets, environmental services, traffic and parking, water and wastewater.

Provides engineering and inspection services for city projects, development plan review, assistance to the general public, GIS functions for Public Services, and other related activities. Includes Parking and Traffic, and Stormwater Management.
|Environmental Services (Solid Waste Services)
Provide residential solid waste collection, leaf collection, bulk item disposal, residential yard waste, operate the city's recycling program.
Operate maintenance and repair facility for city vehicles, construction equipment, emergency vehicles, and other rolling stock. Provide fueling station for all city equipment as well as Wilson County vehicles.
Construct and maintain city streets and sidewalks, demolish dilapidated and obsolete builds, make improvements to municipal parking lots, provide barricades and special assistance to other city departments.
|Transportation Services (Mass Transit & Industrial Air Center)
Provide transportation to all citizens by fixed bus routes, provide bus shelters, provide alternatives for mobility impaired and disabled riders. Promote the Wilson Industrial Air Center Airport, Maintain transportation center and rail depot buildings.
|Water Infrastructure and Water Resources
Construct and maintain the city's water distribution, wastewater collection, re-use, and storm drainage systems. Provide special programs in I/I reduction, backflow prevention, leak detection, hydrant program, meter program, hydraulic modeling, manhole rehabilitation, TV monitoring, flusher program, grease trap program, and utility locates.
Operates the city's 14 MGD Water Reclamation Facility using tertiary treatment to discharge clean water into Contentnea Creek. Division responsible for enforcement of wastewater ordinances including permitting and pre-treatment programs for industrial users.
Operates the city's 12 MGD Wiggins Mill and 10 MGD Toisnot Water Treatment Plants. Division also responsible for 4 storage lakes and dams, raw water pumping stations, water analysis, and elevated storage tanks. Dedicated to providing the citizens, businesses, and industries a safe and adequate supply of water.
