The City of Wilson will be closed for the holidays: Wednesday, Dec. 24 through Friday, Dec. 26 for Christmas and Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026 for New Year’s Day. These closures affect city services, including garbage, recycling, and bulky item pickups.
Here’s what you need to know:
Environmental Services Adjustments:

Monday & Tuesday routes: Will be collected on Monday, Dec. 22.

Thursday & Friday routes: Will be collected on Tuesday, Dec. 23.

Special pickups: There will be no bulky item or special pickups on Wednesday, Dec. 24.

New Year’s Day routes (Jan. 1): Will be collected on Wednesday, Dec. 31, again no bulky item pickups.
How you can help:

Know the schedule: Check updates here, on our website, social media, or through automated calls. Put your containers out a little early.

Don’t overpack: Overflowing containers may not be collected. Extra containers are available for $50 if needed.

Be patient: Our crews are working hard, and sometimes equipment issues arise.

Report issues in Fix-It Wilson: Missed or bulky item pickups can be logged here, and we’ll address them as quickly as possible.
