We're seeing a few entries on the Cheer Challenge Map -- and we can't wait to see even more! if you're planning to go big with your decorations this year, we invite you to show off your creativity and hard by work by joining the City of Wilson's Christmas Cheer Challenge.
Launched in 2024, this friendly community competition highlights Wilson’s most spirited holiday décor and helps families plan their own light-seeking night drives. Last year, more than 50 residents and businesses joined the fun, and we’re hoping to double that number in 2025.
To keep the magic glowing across town, we ask all participants to have their displays lit nightly from 5–9 p.m., December 5 through Christmas Eve.
A panel of judges — who may or may not be elves — will review entries between December 15–19 in the following categories:
Winners will be announced on Monday, December 22, and each category winner will receive a yard sign and a festive gift basket from our sponsors.
Anyone in Wilson County is welcome to add their location to the map. Please note: only City of Wilson residents are eligible for judging and prizes.
