The Wilson Sports and Entertainment Park is now open after celebrating the inaugural Wilson Warbirds home game on April 14, 2026. The project was approved in December 2023 and construction started in late spring 2024. In addition to the stadium construction, the project included replacing and upgrading the water, sewer, stormwater and electric infrastructure in the area for future growth. Several streets were also resurfaced during the project with pedestrian features added throughout the stadium vicinity.
PROJECT BUDGET AND COSTS (as of March 31, 2026)
A full description of the project and cost of the stadium were presented to City Council and the public in December 2023. The full presentation can be viewed on the City’s website: December 2023 Presentation
The proposed budget was $76.1 million including stadium construction and related expenses.
Stadium construction $63.6 million
Related infrastructure 7.5 million
Land purchase $5 million
Total cost $76.1 million
Although the stadium is complete, all of the expenses have not been finalized. We expect final numbers in the coming months. The information below is current as of March 2026.
Several additions and changes were made during construction. Nearly all of the changes were paid for by one of the project partners. The major impacts on the budget are:
- $1 million for additional structural support needed for the attached hotel, paid for by Bryant Corp.
- $2.5 million to add the 360-degree concourse for public recreation, paid for by Healthcare Foundation of Wilson
- $250,000 for additional stadium equipment for team, paid for by Milwaukee Brewers
The revised budget is $80.3 million as of March 2026. Please note most of the overage from the original budget is due to the expenses listed above, which are being paid by project partners. The total spent to as of March 31, 2026 is $76.9 million.
This is not the final accounting for the project. We will have final numbers within the next two to three months.
