Update #6 (09/22/20)
On September 22, 2020, Wilson Police officers arrested Aolani Takemi Marie Pettit (Wilson/21) and charged her with Felony Accessory After the Fact. Pettit received a $250,000 secured bond.

WILSON- Sessoms has been charged with 1st Degree Murder and received no bond. Sessoms was located inside a residence in Goldsboro NC. The Wilson Police Department would like to thank the US Marshals’ Carolinas Violent Fugitive Task Force, Goldsboro Police Department, and Wayne County Sherriff’s Dept. for their assistance in apprehending Sessoms.

WILSON- Sessoms has been arrested and is in the custody of Wilson Police Department officers and members of the US Marshals’ Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force. More details of the arrest will be provided in a later press release.

WILSON- The Wilson Police Department has identified the victim in this case as Cannon Hinnant (Wilson/5). The Wilson Police Department sends its sincerest condolences and prayers to the family of Cannon during this tragic time.
Sessoms whereabouts is still unknown at this time. The Wilson Police Department is utilizing all of its resources to locate and apprehend Sessoms.

WILSON- Sessoms was last seen driving a 2019 Toyota Corolla black in color displaying NC registration plate number TCH-2773. The vehicle’s front bumper is missing.

WILSON- Officers of the Wilson Police Department have identified Darius N. Sessoms (Wilson/25) as the suspect in this case. Sessoms has an active warrant for 1st Degree Murder and has been entered as wanted with the NCIC database, with full extradition. The Wilson Police Department is using all its resources to locate and apprehend Sessoms at this time.

WILSON- On August 9, 2020 at 5:33 p.m., officers of the Wilson Police Department were dispatched to 5100 block of Archers Road in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived on the scene and located a 5 year old suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers and EMS personnel began performing lifesaving efforts. The victim was transported to Wilson Medical Center. Tragically, the victim succumbed to their injuries.
The Wilson Police Department is actively investigating this case.
