The City of Wilson will close Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, for the New Year's Day holiday. 

Environmental services: Thursday routes will be collected Wednesday and there will be no special pickups that day. If you need pickups, go ahead and enter them in Fix-It Wilson; that tends to get things done the quickest.

Customer Service: The office will be closed Thursday.

You can pay bills via the automated system at 399-2200; online at our website, WilsonNC.org; or at the kiosk in the drive-thru lane at 208 Nash St. NW. Payments can be cash, debit or credit card and apply to City of Wilson utility and Greenlight customer accounts instantly.

RIDE will operate Thursday, but the driver pool might be limited. Use the app to book trips.

If you plan to celebrate the New Year's Eve, please be careful and do not drive after drinking. Please do not fire off guns; stray bullets have hurt people or even worse. And do not shoot off illegal fireworks. We are all excited for 2026; let's get there together!
