Spare Change kicks off 2012 Downtown Alive series

The Downtown Alive concert series begins its 2012 season Wednesday with a return appearance by local favorites Spare Change.

The free concert will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the grassy lot in the 200 block of Tarboro Street. Parking is available across the street in a city lot.

Attendees may bring lawn chairs and blankets and bottled water, but no coolers or pets. Food and drink will be available for sale.

Spare Change is a band based out of LaGrange that has been performing since 2002. They play a diverse selection of music, including rock, country, beach and soul.

The other concerts this season will be May 16, The Monitors; May 30, Black Diamond; June 13, The Legends of Beach; June 27, The Band of Oz; July 11, The Craig Woolard Band; and July 25, The Embers

The concert series is organized by the Downtown Wilson Development Corporation and is paid for by sponsorships by Wilson businesses.
