Christmas Tour of Old and Historic Homes this Weekend

Tuesday, December 08, 2009

Wilson’s Christmas Tour of Old and Historic Homes will be held on Saturday, December 12th from 12-6 pm. Tickets are $15 and are available at Creations by Culbreth at 222 Tarboro Street (the Christmas Store) and at Park Place, 111 Park Avenue (behind Piggly Wiggly on Nash). Ten houses and one shop are on the tour; two of the homes are available for sale.

The Historic Preservation Commission is pleased to offer you this opportunity to step into some of the houses you’ve admired for years, to see the beauty of the old and historic houses, and the work of craftsmen and owners that have helped preserve them for generations to come.

A detailed tour guide will be available at the ticket sites on the morning of the tour. This guide will be your ticket into the homes – large and small, simple and ornate – ranging from Bungalows to Tudor Revival, Victorian and Colonial Revival. All but one of the tour sites are located in Wilson; the exception is the grandest of country Victorians, located in the Bailey vicinity. You won’t want to miss a single property!

Be sure to allow enough time to visit all the sites and take a moment to browse through Culbreths and Park Place where you’ll find new and pre-loved treasures that will make lasting Christmas memories for your family!
