Help Your Neighbor

All utility customers have the option of making a monthly contribution to assist those in Wilson and Wilson County who need assistance in paying for their home heating cost.  Contributions of a least one dollar are accepted monthly, and multiple donations from the same party are welcome.  The amount contributed will be added to your utility bill for collection each month, and all contributions are tax deductible.  While the Wilson Energy collects these donations, distribution is handled through the Salvation Army.  Donations will go towards assisting families to obtain fuel oil, propane gas, natural gas, electricity, coal, or wood.

Here’s how it works:  Wilson Energy holds all contributed funds in an interest-bearing account, and dispenses these funds to the Salvation Army upon request.  The contributions and accrued interest thereof will be added to the Salvation Army’s overall fuel account, which will then be used to purchase heating materials that will be dispersed throughout the county to those who most need them.

Here's How to Enroll:

  1. Complete the Help Your Neighbor Program Enrollment Form below.
  2. Click "Continue" and verify that your information is correct.
  3. Click "Send" to send us your information.
  4. Print out two copies of the Confirmation Page at the end and
    1. Retain one for your records AND EITHER
    2. Sign and Mail the other with to: City of Wilson, % Customer Service, PO Box 10, Wilson, NC 27894.
    3. Or Sign and Fax it to: 252.399.2314.
