Citizen's Academy

The Citizens Academy is a great way for the people of Wilson to learn more about how their government works.

  • Classes use hands-on activities and lectures to teach how City government affects the quality of life in Wilson.
  • Classes are held for nine consecutive weeks.
  • Classes are open to any city resident, but class size is limited to 20 people. Potential students must complete an application.
  • The academy prepares class participants for service on a city board or commission, if they choose.
  • The academy is free.
