Job Title: ITS Support & Telecommunications Manager
Job Summary: This position manages both internal Information Technology support teams for the City of
Major Duties:
Administers VoIP system;
Supervises internal help desk, plan/design/implement enterprise hardware infrastructure with assistance from server administrator;
Oversees maintenance of hardware inventory, manage hardware lease;
Creates and implements yearly work plans for support services & communications team based on larger ITS yearly planning efforts.
Knowledge Required by the Position:
Thoroughly skilled in providing direct end user support in a windows PC environment
Skilled in management and administration of a Windows server environment
Skilled in management and administration of VoIP infrastructure
Skilled in IT infrastructure and capacity planning
Familiar with basic ITIL concepts to include: incident, change and problem management
Knowledge of City and departmental policies and procedures
Skill in effective communication with technical and non-technical personnel
Skill in planning, organizing and decision making
Skill in establishing effective working relationships
Supervisory Controls: The Assistant Director of IT assists with creation of goals and objectives for team based on larger IT goals. The supervisor monitors progress towards achieving goals and objectives on a monthly basis.
Guidelines: Guidelines include department standard operating procedures state, local and federal laws and regulations. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application.
Complexity: The work consists of varied technical and managerial duties. The unique nature of each problem and the mix of technical and non-technical responsibilities contribute to the complexity of the position.

Work Environment: The work is typically performed in an office or computer room.
Supervisory and Management Responsibility: This position has direct supervision over Server Administrator (1), Computer Operator (1), and Microcomputer Technicians (6).
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Minimum Associates of Applied Science degree in Computer Science or related field, and a minimum of five years experience working in IT & VoIP support related position with a minimum of one year experience supervising other support personnel.
Must Possess or have the ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of
