The Position
Performs technical and skilled work in the development of internet and intranet GIS applications, and customized desktop applications. Work is performed under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Information Technology Services.

The Selection Process
The process begins with a complete evaluation of the applications submitted for employment. Only a limited number of persons determined to be most qualified, as reflected by the contents of their application, will be invited to a personal interview. The interview will cover the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties of the vacant position. The applicant determined to best fit the needs of the position will be given a careful reference and work background review, along with a complete medical examination and drug test. NOTE: All candidates selected for an interview will be required to present samples of presentations of their past work developed, or given the opportunity to create a PowerPoint of sample applications.
How to Compete in the Process
Applicant must have thorough knowledge of GIS analysis in a local government setting; and knowledge of computer mapping and customizing using ArcMap (with ArcObjects preferred). Must have demonstrated the ability to build, and customize Arc IMS/ Arc server applications using ArcXML, HTML, JavaScript, ASP and/or the Active X connector. Must have demonstrated the ability to understand, and follow oral and written instructions; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelors degree in Geography, Computer Science, or other related field, and at least two years experience in the development of custom applications based on ESRI technology will be accepted. ASP.Net programming experience is desired. A valid Drivers License is required.
