Service Termination
Temporary Cut Off
Please contact Customer Service by calling (252) 399.2162 or by visiting their office on the first floor of City Hall at 112 N Goldsboro Street.
Wilson Energy requires that the customer does NOT cut off the gas meter themselves. This is beneficial to the customer because the monthly facilities charge for the gas service will not be billed if Customer Service cuts off the gas.
When the customer is ready to have the gas service turned on for the winter they must contact Wilson Energy Customer Service. The customer will be charged a fee for the gas service to be turned on. For more information regarding the fee contact Customer Service.
Building Demolition
If the building is within the City Limits, or within the boundaries the City's Extra-Terratorial Jurisdiction (ETJ), the customer must contact the Inspections Department at (252) 399.2919 or (252) 399.2220, or visit their office located on the 2nd floor of City Hall at 112 N Goldsboro Street. The Inspections Department will forward the request to the Gas Division so that the gas service can be removed prior to the demolition.
If the building is outside the City Limits, the customer should contact the Wilson Energy Gas Division at (252) 399.2188 to request the removal of the gas service. The Wilson Energy Gas Division office is open from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
Wilson Energy requests that its staff be given at least two weeks to remove the gas service on streets maintained by the City of Wilson. If the service is on a property along a state maintained road Wilson Energy will require four to six weeks to remove the gas service.
