Wilson Youth Programs

Youth Involvement is Key to Teen Success!

According to the Corporation for National & Community Service, teen involvement in their own community is a key factor for success in life, school and career.

  • Estimated 15.5 million teens volunteer every year, twice the rate of adults
  • Youth members volunteer an average of 29 hours per year
  • 3/4th of all teens that are involved in a community organization do so through faith based sponsored groups
  • 65% of youth that are involved in the community demonstrate higher grades in school and coursework

Wilson provides many opportunities for teens and youth to get involved in their own community.

The Wilson Youth Council, in collaboration with Wilson 20/20, provides the list below of independent community organizations as a resource guide for teens and families.

If you are aware of a youth/teen program that should be added to this list, please contact the Wilson Youth Council, sponsored by the City of Wilson Human Relations Office, by calling: 252-399-2308.
