Community Groups
1st Fridays on the Lawn – Community Groups

The Human Relations Commission hosts a Community Fair at each concert highlighting a specific aspect of the community:
- July 2 - Staycation & Wilson Tourism
- August 6 - National Night Out & Neighborhood Safety
- September 3 - County Fair & Agriculture Awarness
- October 1 - Health & Fitness
Wilson Community groups are invited to participate at the concert date that best matches thier services. Civic clubs, non-profits and faith-based organizations are encouraged to join the lawn celebration each month. Groups may use this opportunity to inform the community of thier goals, community action, events and membership opportunities. The booths are free of charge, but limited to only 10 groups per concert date.
Volunteering is a great way for citizens to learn about your organization and meet your members. In addition to setting up an informational booth, your group may volunteer in one of the following areas:
- Family and Children Fun Zone
- Horse & Carriage Rides
- Welcome Tent
Community groups may use this opporunity as a fundraiser asking for donations, offering door prizes or a raffle. Groups may not sell individual items as that type of activity is reserved for the annual street festival in November.
Community groups interested in being food vendors must apply seperately as a food vendor. This could include a bake sale, popcorn, lemonade, fish fry, etc... The planners carefully review food vending applications and assign one booth per food type per concert date.
