Bicycle Rodeo

The annual bicycle rodeo is a fun event for kids ages 5-12 that teaches bicycle safety.  Each child goes through a series of bicycle safety challenges, such as stopping quickly, maneuvering around cones, etc. Children's bicycles are inspected, and their helmets are checked to ensure they fit right. It is a fun event for all!

This year's bicycle rodeo will be held on June 2, 2012 at the Recreation Park parking lot from 9-11am. Click here for a flyer.

Ride of Silence

The Ride of Silence is an international event that takes place each May during Bicycle Safety Awareness Month to commemorate those who have been injured or killed while cycling, and raise awareness among motorists of the dangers they pose to cyclists.

This year's Ride of Silence is on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Participants will meet at the Dunkin Donuts on Nash Street (near Ward Blvd) at 6:30pm.  Please see this flyer for more information and a map of the route.

International Walk to School Day

International Walk to School Day is held every year on the first Wednesday in October.  The Bicycle and Pedestrian Board works with schools to set up Walk to School Days, in which children can meet at designated meeting points and walk safely to school along with adults and police.  Along the way, they are taught safe walking habits.
